Two tiny horses joining the herd TODAY!

Oct 26, 2024

Happy Saturday friends!

I held my Meditation with the Animals of The Mother Ranch last Saturday with 12 wonderful women, it was lovely! The donkeys were, as usual, rock stars in their kindness and sharing of their healing abilities. And of course the goats brought joy :-) We raised $150 to send to western North Carolina hurricane relief, yay!

I'm thinking of holding a free meditation each month, so keep an eye out for the next one in November and pass this along to your friends! Because we all need and know someone who needs this experience:

Jaffee and Sweetness exuded their healing energy onto everyone :-)

I gave everyone time at the end to take selfies too:

EXCITING NEWS!

For the November Meditation, we will have two new additions, bringing the mini herd to four!

OMG!

Whaaaat?

Remember how last week I was talking about a possible new Shetland pony named Tori?

Well I went to see her again on Thursday! I didn't want to mention it until I knew I was getting her but I've been having conversations with her all week and she's as clear as a bell. I've been missing that so much. I get bits and pieces from both Mom and Rayn but it's so different than when they were here on earth.

When I first reached out to Tori she and I talked about the possibility of coming here. When we were done I suddenly heard the song Take On Me by A-ha, listen to it here!

Oh wow.

The next time we talked about what I do here and what she wanted to do here. I cried the entire conversation. Maybe I'll write about that at some point too. At the end of that she sent me another song: The Bird is the Word.

What in the world! I looked up the lyrics. Nope, still didn't understand. I finally looked up what the song meant, "Something as good, cool, or new and revolutionary." 😁πŸ₯° Needless to say, I'm fascinated by her and the way she thinks!

I laughed and said, "That's the second song you've sent me! You are a funny girl!"

And she said, "I told you I have a big personality! And I know how to get my point across!"

Later, as I was thanking her for her clear communication and that I had missed it so much with Rayn, she said, "Please remember that while Rayn is a piece of me as all horses are a piece of each other, I am ME. I am my own being. I won't be the same. You will learn new. There will be ups and downs as we learn each other. Be patient. And talk to me always. This piece is special between us. It isn't always this way as you know."

The next day my brain was playing it's anxiety tricks on me and I was second guessing myself: Tori can't be the one. She doesn't look like the palomino mini in my dream, the one that ran so fast right at me that I woke up with a gasp. And then I wondered if that was why Tori was randomly running so fast in the arena the first time I met her?

And she piped up with, "It took you long enough."

OMG! Haaaaaaaa!!!

But wait! The story isn't done yet!

Tori introduced me to one of her herdmates while I was there on Thurday. I was hanging out in her paddock and this little chestnut gelding came over to say hi. Sara (the boarding facility owner) and I were chatting while I was petting both horses. His tiny white muzzle would fit in a teacup, lord. Part of his name has "Carolina Blue" in it for his blue eyes and they call him Jordan—after Michael Jordan. In the south "Carolina Blue" is all about UNC University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and Michael Jordan went to UNC. Horse Jordan was just the sweetest little boy, hanging out, soaking up all the love on one side, while Tori did the same on the other. Neither was fussy when I gave them cookies, no pinned ears. Obviously they really liked each other.

Sara told me Jordan's story (he's been through the wringer, twice) while watching us. Finally she said, "I've never seen him like this with anyone else."

Huh, really? That was odd because he was obviously a love bug! Sara said that his owner was looking for a special home for him, maybe a therapy home. And that's when I felt this...yearning coming from him.

No. No. No. I know horses are like potato chips and you can't have just one, but no.

Right?

Right.

No.

Of course no.

... oh dear...

I went home and worked out a time to talk to Tori's mom on Friday to finalize everything. Friday came and I couldn't get Jordan out of my mind. I told myself that maybe, if he was still around in the new year...

Then my fingers texted Sara, all on their own!, asking her for Jordan's mom's phone number. You know, for the future...

We talked for two hours. She wanted me to have him.

Then I spent an hour talking it over with my brother who is a great cheerleader. As I made the decision to go for it, Jordan popped in and said with such earnest surprise, "Me too?!?" that I burst into tears again.

Goodness.

Meet Jordan. We go pick them up tomorrow at noon:

🀣😍πŸ₯°

I can't wait to introduce them to you all!

And the thing that seemed to set all this change into motion is the decision to send my big boy Wynter to live with a friend who has his two mare girlfriends. She used to board with me in Colorado and has worked with and loved all of my animals before she ever had her own. She was the first person who could hear Rayn like I did and I've trusted her with them ever since. She and her girls need the strong, positive masculine energy that Wynter provides. He leaves the beginning of December. I will write more about all of that soon!

THE RANCH:

B-Rad and I were out doing chores one morning and he was feeling overwhelmed by life and said he wanted to move along, get things done and go relax. I said that was okay by me and he could just do the things he does and I would do the things I do but that I was going to take my time because I was also feeling overwhelmed so I needed to spend time outside with the animals and just move slow.

We were in two different areas of the goat barn when I heard him give a short laugh and then say, “Did you just jump off my head?!?” I went out to see what had happened and he said a little lizard had jumped or fallen off/out of the goat barn, bounced off his head, and then landed on the milking stand! He went back to mucking and when he was done put his hand out to see if the lizard wanted some warmth:

It walked right onto his hand, up his arm and flattened his chilly belly down, skin to skin. After about 10 minutes of the little one basking in the warmth of Brad’s arm, he put it on the barn in the sun and said, “Thank you, I feel so much better!”

It was obvious the lizard was just what Brad needed and it helped him calm his mind and focus in on the moment. Avia, from what-your-sign.com says, “Our minds are very much like lizard movement. Our thoughts jitter and fritter. They scamper and go all whip-speed on us. If left unchecked, this can be harmful. When lizards come into our lives, it’s often a sign to check in with our thoughts."

I love that!

Have you ever heard of a Pantoum? I hadn't until yesterday. It's a kind of poem. I got this message from Substack and the writer was talking about creating a "dream pantoum." It's pretty simple, write the answers to these questions about your dream:

1. Where it took place
2. How you found it
3. Others or objects in it
4. A secret it holds
5. A description of it
6. How it made you feel
7. What did you find in it
8. What it means to you

And then you arrange the sentences in this order:

1
2
3
4

2
5

I hadn't had any interesting dreams so I thought: Hmmm...could I write about Rayn using these prompts?
