Happy Saturday friends!
I've painted something new! I no longer ride but I still dream of it. It's always with my Rayn. Sometimes we are running through fields and sometimes I'm just sitting there enjoying her warm back and the feel of connection while she grazes.
Her heart beating steady beneath me, her power amplifies mine—we fly free.
A dream? I awake with a start and look out the window to the pasture below and there they stand, my angels, glowing in the moonlight.
Looking knowingly back at me. —Julia

THE WORK:
You've been hearing me talk about it for months now, prepping for the work. So much marketing goes into starting a business from scratch. I felt like I was stepping off into the abyss sometimes. But my mother, marketer extraordinaire, kept telling me to fill the pipeline :-) Aaaaannnd...it's finally flowing. I think it might have been the longest pipeline in the world lol
Last week I had a few coaching sessions and packing up my "tools" to take to the barn felt like picking up my most loved paint brushes—like coming home. This week I had 7 coaching sessions and 2 neurofeedback sessions. The horses, donkey, and goats are thrilled to have clients again and it's been fun to see what they offer to their clients in the moment. For instance, Sweetness the mini donkey was in a session the other day with a young woman. We had been talking about her current path forward when suddenly he started walking by us, stopping at the barn wall, and then walked backward about 20 feet. This happened quite a few times over and over. I heard, "backup" and thought he was talking about taking her back into some childhood things that had been revealed earlier. I did a bit of that and he stopped. Then he started up again. Hmmm. I asked her about it and she suddenly said, "Well...I have been thinking of taking a step back from (the current path forward.)" LOL, I love the animal's ability to pick up on the energy of a client!
If you are in my area (Apex, NC and surrounding areas) I'm offering a special deal for you to come try out neurofeedback and/or coaching!
Half off your first neurofeedback session ($30 for 30 minutes instead of $60)
$25 off your first Equine Gestalt Coaching session ($100 for an hour instead of $125)
Please take me up on these—and yes, you can have both, in fact I encourage it! Doing neurofeedback before a coaching session puts you in a regulated state which the animals love and is ideal for the work. Doing neurofeedback after helps you process your session :-) The coaching setting is beautiful with the horses, donkey, and goats nearby and in my air conditioned neurofeedback room you have a view of the pond and the wildlife that surrounds it. We are in a covered barn for coaching so are in the shade and out of any rain or weather.
You can read about neurofeedback here!
FUNNY GOATS:
Dancer and Galaxy have become friends and can often be found hopping and running around together. Like in any living thing, there are a lot of displays of dominance. Baby goats, even girl babies, start mounting each other at just a few days old. I chose to not post a pic of that, but there was a lot of that going on during these pics lol. What popped into my mind was that leapfrog scene from the Birdcage movie. That movie is still one of our favorites!
I have no idea how Galaxy managed it, but neither of her feet were on the ground! She's levitating! Sorry for the blurry, they move so fast!
In my never ending quest to do things smarter not harder, I decided to trim 2 goats per week instead of all 10 at one time. This week's trims were the boys and they are the hardest, they have to be brought over from their pen to the milking stand. Poppy is pretty good on the stand but hates to be led and while not huge, he's solid and his 4 on the floor make it hard to not fly behind him like a kite. Getting them back and forth is B-Rad's job. Heart is easy to catch and walk but he's a beast on the stand—yanking his feet out of my hand and putting me at risk for cutting myself with the very sharp trimmers. But that's not enough for him, he likes to kick too. B-Rad to the rescue again! Check out Poppy's gorgeous beard:
And just because, Baby Dancer:
HORSES AND DONKEY:
I love looking out the window in the morning and finding the horses sharing the upper pasture with the geese. They are surprisingly close to each other!:
Wednesday: Brad had brought Sweetness down from their nighttime upper pasture (in good weather) to the lower pasture where the barns are. He left the gate unchained as he often does. The horses don't leave but they could push the gate open...haha, you see where this is going don't you? We came back down leading Rayn and Wynter, and there was Sweetness on the wrong side of the gate! He named himself well—he was sweet and waited to be haltered and led back:
ODDS AND ENDS:
I was super excited to see this:
And did a little happy dance when a few days later I found (and smelled) that they had bloomed! These are gardenias and their smell is intoxicating! The people who lived here before us planted them all over the side and back yard. I just looked it up and found that you can take a cutting of them and root them in water. I will for sure be doing that! With 7 acres, I know I can find more places for them ;-)
When I was out for a walk in the forest with Lucy I found this clump of trees and thought the two on the right looked like they were kissing:
See? โค๏ธ๐
Did you guys ever read the Hidden Life of Trees? What they feel and how they communicate. Fascinating!
Lucy was more interested in continuing our walk, not noticing strange things, so she was not amused when I had to stop and take photos of the first mushroom of the season—obviously fairies live under there:
Or this pretty mossy pine:
And she kept looking at me like this:
I also found a perfect little bird's nest that had blown out of a bush. Of course it's in a pretty bowl in my house now. Yep, I'm that person who has bowls of rocks, bird's nests, paper wasp nests, and other interesting bits I find around the farm. That little piece of blue is baling twine:
MEMES OF THE WEEK:
And now it's summer and he's never going to sleep at night again!
