Donkeys, yoga, & a movie review!

Happy Saturday friends!

A quicky update! It's 8pm on Tuesday, which means I'm writing this before I gather a week's worth of photos and stories darn it—but I'm headed to my brother's in Pittsburgh on Thursday so here we are, getting all the things done ahead of time!

We went to see Sheep Detectives on Mother's Day and it was sweet and fun but my favorite was ManChild's comment afterwards: It was so touchy feely, we need this in our world right now. High praise from an 18 year old!

Boys are so interesting. How hard it must be to have to put on the persona of "tough guy" out in the world, no feelings except seriousness or anger. Ridiculous. Girls have to put on their own persona of course and none of it is who they are. They are all just trying to fit in to the mold that society says is best. At some point, if they're lucky, they start to deviate away from those stupid expectations and back to who they really are. I'm just happy that ManChild allows himself to be real at home šŸ’œ

Sweetness's hoof is doing better as you can see from the video above (I started recording just as he and Jaffee were slowing their play down, they had been being little stallions! He's definitely not 100% but he's walking and trotting with no trouble.

What was interesting was how the Duchess of Cashmere was protecting him in the pasture. You can see everyone being wild and Sweetness hanging out with her (big red horse). And then, if your sound is on, you'll hear him get surprised when the rest of the littles rushed up behind him. From that point on, Duchess was ON IT. She wasn't letting those ponies scare her friend again! At the end, Jaffee ran up and she was okay with that, I think because she loves both of the donkeys best :-)

MONDAY ONLINE ART CLASS:

A fun and easy flower for Monday's watercolor class! Mine is sunflower-esque but maybe yours is something else? A purple cone flower? Or maybe a blue daisy? You decide :-) This is a "no drawing" class. Monday, May 18, 7:30-9pm EST via Zoom, $35. Shoot me an email or text to sign up!

HOW TO WORK WITH ME

Equine Partnered Coaching! With horses, without horses, in-person, or online, your choice.

Neurofeedback Train your brain to calm and ease. The most common response I hear about neurofeedback is, "I'm so much less reactive in my life!" It really does smooth out the sharp spikes. Super helpful if your world feels harsh and spiky right now.

Reiki Another way to facilitate relaxation, calm, healing. If the weather is nice, you can choose inside, outside, or outside in the herd.

And of course Women's Circles! The Wednesday circle has a waiting list, I will add you to it if you'd like.

And finally, The Mother Ranch was featured in the Thursday 5/14 edition of The Peak Weekly, fun!

Hope you all have a great week!

Thank you for reading :-)

This is an AI-free newsletter! While I love to use AI to help me figure out a piece of software I don't understand, my intention is to use it to help me with the drudgery, never with writing, art, creation. All em dashes are intentional and mine, I was using them way before ChatGPT was a twinkle in Sam Altman's eye :-)
