Queen of the Donkeys 🫏

May 09, 2026

Happy Saturday friends!

So many fun things to talk about today!

I woke up one morning this week with a house finch perched on my window, singing the sweetest little song to wake me up 🥰

And then this just made me laugh out loud, I found out that one of my Women's Circle girls has me in her phone as "Queen of the Donkeys." OMG! Haaaaaaa!!!!! That made my day!

Jessy, the yoga instructor and I have settled on a date and time AND tickets are available! She came out with her beautiful daughter to take photos for the Eventbrite page and you know how I am about moms and daughters 😍

Saturday, May 30th, 5-7pm, gentle flow yoga with time for reflecting, meditation, and journaling. Space is limited to 15 women (18 and up).

Get your tickets here!  (Please purchase your tickets through the link. I'm not able to reserve your spot separately.)

MONDAY ONLINE ART CLASS:

For the Monday online art class we will be tapping into our little 5 year old self and painting funny, whimsical houses. My current emotional support show is Desperate Housewives. Remember that show from the early 2000s? Terry Hatcher, Eva Longoria. Maybe that's what triggered my need to paint my own funny little street. This is my own personal Wisteria Lane and obviously I'd be living in the tree house! I think in my Monday version I will add Lorax style trees instead! Remember those? If you're going to join us, do a Dr. Seuss search for fun and funny drawings to inspire you!

As always with line and wash watercolor, the paint is a suggestion, the detail comes with the pen.

And you know I'm going to say it: See all the basic shapes? Rectangles and circles and triangles. This is your funny street, you get to choose what you want on it!

Monday, May 11th, 7:30-9pm ET. Online via Zoom (download here.) Come have fun with a small group of nice women :-) $35
(contact me to sign up and for Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal info).

HOW TO WORK WITH ME

Equine Partnered Coaching! With horses, without horses, in-person, or online, your choice.

Neurofeedback Train your brain to calm and ease. The most common response I hear about neurofeedback is, "I'm so much less reactive in my life!" It really does smooth out the sharp spikes. Super helpful if your world feels harsh and spiky right now.

Reiki Another way to facilitate relaxation, calm, healing. If the weather is nice, you can choose inside, outside, or outside in the herd.

And of course Women's Circles! The Wednesday circle has a waiting list, I will add you to it if you'd like.

THE RANCH:

Poor Sweetness! I came out Sunday morning and found him three legged and his foot like this:

Oh OUCH! Imagine ripping your nail off way down into the quick and then having to walk on that. Arrrrggghhhh!!! I don't know how he manged to take off a chunk of his hoof wall but the vet said that it's been so dry, she's been seeing stuff like this. Luckily, I could send pics to her and she said to treat it like a hoof abscess, she didn't have to come out. I've dealt with those before so I knew how to clean, soak with Epsom salt, dry, wrap with duct tape:

For some reason, I forgot to wrap a piece around the whole top of the hoof so that didn't last long! So we graduated to:

Which also didn't last all night. The next time we did the duct tape and wrapped the whole foot, including underneath with the sticky vet wrap and that did the trick. I was surprised how strong the vet wrap was, it totally held up to being walked on for 24 hours.

He also got Banamine for pain but only wanted that for 24 hours. He specifically said he didn't need it anymore. I insisted for two more rounds so the last time he held it in his mouth and then spit it out in one blob onto the ground 😂

Okay then.

He spent some time with me in the front yard this week, he needed to be babied with some green grass:

I don't know that the wrapping has done much really. He stopped being 3 legged by Monday. Barely limping by Tuesday. Now he seems perfectly fine walking. Tough little guy. So thankful he's okay!

The turtles have been interesting, we're seeing more big ones and more tiny ones:

On Wednesday it rained all day and for some crazy reason our sky pencil hollies decided to do this:

What in the world? I've never seen them do that before, maybe the rain was coming in sideways? I don't know! I was worried that they would stay bent over and I'd have to chop them off so I tied them up with baling twine (of course):

Sunday is Mother's Day and I told ManChild that we were going to go see Sheep Detectives! Heehee, the joys of Mother's Day, insisting that your young adult son go see a children's movie with you! When I showed him the trailer I caught him grinning, yay!

And finally, The Peak Weekly will be featuring The Mother Ranch this coming Thursday 5/14, how fun!

Hope you all have a great week!
