Happy Saturday friends!
Let's talk about PONIES!
My aunt and uncle came for a visit last weekend and met Tori and Jordan:
I have come to the conclusion that Jordan needs a bit of work on just one section of his manners: mugging you for treats. On and on! If he doesn't get his way, he'll grab your jacket, "Gimme!" Nope, nope, nope. Jaffee was like that too when he first came home. I know we'll work through it. Other than that he's a gem. And Tori continues to talk with me and is so steady too, nothing phases her!
I've been taking them up to my neighbor's pasture and they are up to 4 hours now. Still good so far (watching for signs of too much sugar in the grass which can hurt some horses.) Both Linda and I are giddy with this arrangement—me for having a beautiful space for the ponies and how much she loves them and her for having horses in her life again, and small enough she feels comfortable being around them.
Here's a few photos of them at her place. They are a distance away but I can still see them and it gives me a nice little walk too and from a couple times a day :-)
At first we just let them graze on lead for a few days:
I've been tucking Jordan's long forelock around his halter so he can see when we're out. If you look closely you can see the circle on Jordan's left eye. This is where the bad person who had him before didn't treat an eye scratch—this is the reason he can only see vague shapes out of this eye. Somehow it doesn't seem to bother him:
But then we let them loose—they look so little out there:
What a beautiful space!
All the horses and donkeys enjoyed their people visits:
And doesn't this look like a Christmas card? It just needs a bow and some holly! Bonnie and Tori โค๏ธ

This is the Polar Bear's favorite time of year, she often hangs out here:

A bunch of you replied to last week's newsletter and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was so nice to hear your perspectives. Hugs to you! Thank you for helping me feel not so alone.
This is where I am this week, trying to keep my spirits up:
And then alternating with fury:
But then sweet Leonie posted this and comfort flowed in, you can watch it here:
So many fun memes this week, it's time to laugh!:
So of course, I tried. It's not true for me anyway:
This is so useful for me to see and remember for other small businesses too— and I hope you will consider doing these things for me as well:
I don't think I would have ever heard this song if it weren't for my brother singing it at the top of his lungs in his 20s ๐ If you don't know it, this won't make sense so go here to listen!
Recently a teen from the barn next door had a loose dog by the collar in my front yard. The dog's name is Ruby and she comes to visit us every so often. I asked if she had a car, she said yes so I started to give her directions to Ruby's house, "Right out of driveway, first left, first right into their driveway." The look on her face! I just knew that what was going on in her head was this:
The reason I knew? Because that's how my brain feels too. Same with card game or board game instructions. DO NOT tell me. I have to read them or I'll never get it.
Brad and I snort laughed over this one:
I have to say, neurofeedback is such a calming way to start your healing process. No digging up bodies!
And if you don't get the one below, check this out, "More cowbell!" SNL skit.
I had to read it 3 times before I got it:
