Jaffee the mini donkey's debut with a group! 🫏

Happy Saturday friends!

I would like to offer some live online classes (separate from my Women's Circles) this fall and was wondering if you would take my short survey?

It looks like this (and these are just one example of each, I have lots to choose from, but each class would focus on just one and I'd lead you through it step by step) and you can find it here:

My brother and his husband came into town last weekend, I haven't seen them in months! We went to our favorite burger spot in Apex (Tap Station) with Dad and Delores for a belated birthday dinner. Since covid is back with a vengence, eating outside is a must. Tap Station has an awesome upper deck! Delores made me this incredible German Chocolate Cake with 4 layers!

According to Dad, Delores making 2 full cakes into a beautiful 4 layer cake made her cackle with glee! What a fun and delicious gift!

We had some crazy thunderstorms that made me do this in my office bathroom:

Not for my sake but for I Love Lucy's! I had time to hang out so I grabbed some towels and a pillow and set up camp with my little girl. She immediately stopped shaking when I climbed in with her.

My weather app said less than an inch but my very official farm water gauge said 3". These are 4" feed pans :-)

My favorite thing to do after a hard rain is walk in our forest:

It's quiet and drippy and all the bugs have disappeared for a bit. At this time of year it's starting to cool off so the temperature is comfortable:

The trees continue to show the tiniest peeps of color, giving me a little jolt of happiness and hope for the cool of fall:

We took some leaves and ferns from the yard and used them as stamps to create our art journal pages this week. This is mine so far, not sure what I'm going to do with it yet:

I found our forest herd has grown a lot this year, they are 11 strong, 5 of them are babies! This was about half of them:

You can see the adults are fairly thin, they are nursing moms and all have noticeable udders. I know how hard it is for the goats to get enough calories when they are nursing. At least it's not usually very cold here in the winter.

B-Rad found this little blue tailed skink in the girl goat's water tank when he was scrubbing it out. He put his hand under it and it just stayed there as he lifted it out. I think it got a little too chilled so it was very lethargic. Eventually he put it down and it scurried away:

Usually the Polar Bear eats her meals inside but sometimes she doesn't finish so we take it out with us when we take her out to the goats at night. If she doesn't finish it off quickly, the ants get into it. I picked up her bowl of food one morning and there were a few ants around the edge. I put it on top of this post so I would be reminded to take it in with me. When it was time to go in, this is what I found:

Good lord! Needless to say I just left it up there, ew! I guess they were all underneath the food when I picked it up. Icky.

It's finally been cool enough to start our Wednesday night Women's Circle outside in the barn again. I let the mini donkeys Jaffee and Sweetness in with us:

This might be the first time that Jaffee has been with a group. He's come a long way in the almost year we've had him. I told them they had to get along while they were in with us and other than one time where Sweetness sniffed Jaffee's butt and Jaffee responded with a swift, single foot to his chest, all was well. Yay! This is Jaffee sharing all his love in these photos :-)

The new neighbors at the big white barn next door have been doing a ton of work around their new farm. They are resurfacing a big pasture and took down some trees, built a firepit and a pergola, it's looking really nice over there! On Friday they set a huge stack of tree limbs and brush on fire. They told us ahead of time that they were doing it which was nice and also said that the husband used to be a firefighter and now owns a grading company and has to do this pretty often. Whew, that's a relief. As a resident of Colorado (wildfire central) for 18 years, I was really worried! Friday morning the winds were blowing away from our little neighborhood and they set the fire. It looked like this:

It was drifting smoke back toward us but not bad at all. Because of the 3 months of the 2020 fire raining ash down upon us, I have a super sensitivity to smoke nowadays and end up with a heart palpitations and then all the typical smoke sensitivity stuff too. So, I looked like this while doing chores lol:

The huge pile doesn't seem to have gone down much over the day, I wonder how long it will take?

Aunt Katy news! She had her first chemo session last Friday and she asked for her prognosis. They told her that the expectation was 3-4 rounds of chemo, surgery, 3-4 rounds of chemo, and then a daily chemo pill and remission! πŸ™πŸ½

Remember! From August 23rd to September 23rd I'm offering half off neurofeedback for all new clients! $35 instead of $70! Call, text, or email me if you'd like to give it a try!

Also, I'm moving towards a daytime option for a second Women's Circle (along with the Wednesday night group) and also an online version. I'm thinking possibly Monday mornings for the in-person but I'm not yet sure about the day for the online version. If you haven't contacted me about wanting to join either of those, please do: Call, text, or email me!

And finally, if you haven't yet, go take my short survey! Find the survey here!

THE MEMES:

I had to go look this up, turns out, it's true that there are coaches that earn more than everyone else:

Heeeeeeeey B-Rad! It's time to go get your bag:

Which are you? B-Rad and I are Feral Brats:

Dr. James Kent sounds like a gem of a man πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ (I just looked him up on Twitter, "account suspended"):

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, this is so true:

Also, sadly, very true:
