Fair Weather Women's Circles

Happy Saturday friends!

If you've been wondering about how we handle the heat in the Women's Circles I'm holding, I'm here to say: I gave up 😆 We are fair weather folks! If the weather is too hot, too cold, too anything—I hold the entire group inside instead of just the art portion.

I tried to do it, I brought out the 4' industrial fan which promptly drowned out our voices. I thought about buying huge ceiling fans but they are $1500 each, whaaaat? We were just miserable! So, I gave up and we went inside. I worried that everyone would be sad to not be around the animals in the first half, but it turns out, no lol. I mean come on, it's summer in the south, no one wants to be outside even those who proclaim in the spring, "I can't WAIT, summer is my FAVORITE, I LOVE the heat!" (You know who you are! 😜❤️)

So, for those who have told me they are waiting for a different season, don't let the weather hold you back anymore because we aren't out in it!

Besides, we aren't totally without animals, the Polar Bear is in with us where she walks around the circle, eliciting pets and hugs❤️

Personally I can't wait until fall—it's the nicest time of year here. Cool and so much less humidity, I really do want to have our Solo stove, hot apple cider, and blankies for check-in on the nice nights!

THE RANCH:

Sigh. Wynter the Destroyer of Gates and Fences. The top of that gate should be straight across and about 2 feet lower, literally even with the top rail of the wood fence 🙄. He likes to stick his head through there and scratch the back of his neck, or turn around and scratch his butt:

So lush after all the rain:

We got two days of cooler weather and sun so I was able to go out and mow everything on Saturday and Sunday. I had to mow higher than the norm because everything was extra long, so by Thursday, it needed to be done again. The rain and growth is better than the alternative!

Since it was dry, the Polar Bear could finally stop sleeping in the goat barn overnight and was happy with her fresh shavings bed. As soon as I spread them out for her, she plopped right down:

B-Rad took this photo, we both thought it was interesting to see who was eating with who, or...not:

Upper part of the picture is Queen Snickers (brown goat), then Denali and her half sister Alaska (Dancer's mom), then Dancer and her baby daughter Parsley, and finally, not sharing with anyone, baby Rosemary. Huh. I'll have to start watching herd dynamics more closely. Was this a fluke or not?

Bonnie came to brush critters and decided to hose off Wynter (and herself!) since it was so hot. He looks happy doesn't he? The height difference makes me smile:
