Crisis averted!

Happy Saturday friends!

Goodness gracious! I’ve been living with this icky feeling of “When is the other shoe going to drop?”, for a week now. Ugh. Well, Friday it did. Luckily B-Rad has a special alarm that gets tripped if our water is being weird and it texted him. He went racing over to find water dripping out of the basement garage ceiling. OMG! After much investigation and back and forth with the house cleaners (there for a cleaning before we move back in) he found that someone/somewhere along these five months of us not living there, bumped the clawfoot tub in the master bath and unseated it from its drain. When the cleaners were scrubbing the tub and running water, the water was running on the floor. She saw it and cleaned it up but it was also running under the tile and down into the basement garage ceiling. 

The question was, did it run all the way to the beautifully refinished wood floors just outside the bathroom???

Sigh of relief, the water didn’t get that far. THANK GOD.

Patrick, our general contractor bolted over, ordered up his guys with the big fans and a moisture meter and all will be well. Monday the plumber comes and fixes that issue. 

In much happier news, the walkthrough went great, there are a few tiny things like knobs on ManChild’s bathroom vanity but we are good to start moving in!

The carpet went in upstairs this week and my new bonus room bedroom looks so nice! The carpet is a soft grey loop pile:

A huge pile of free wood chips arrived this week, yay!, now we can continue on with our community garden! We are having a work day on Sunday, meeting at 11am. Women’s Circles:

The Women’s Circle will start back up on Wednesday, June 18th. We will be spending time with the ponies and mini donkeys to do our check in, then whenever that is over, head inside to work on art. If you’re already artsy, feel free to bring your own stuff and work on that if you’d like, or, I will also have tracings available and the rest of us will go step by step through that. These are meant to be fun and easy. Repeat after me: FUN AND EASY. Not stressy. I most often have women who say they aren’t artsy, and they are perfectly capable of putting paint to paper. Not a very long newsletter today, as soon as the rain lets up, we are headed back over to the farm with some of the replacement things we’ve picked up over these five months of being at the rental. Luckily there was a garage to store stuff in! I found ManChild a new headboard/footboard/bed—actually in a fire/smoke damage, everyone gets new beds!
