Is it all going to hell in a hand basket or...

Happy Saturday friends!

This just made my heart sing and I wanted to share:

Right now there are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.

Someone you haven't met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.

Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life.

Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God's children.

A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, "nourish them."

Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you.

Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favorite food is, and treat you to a movie.
Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you — for free.

Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.

The next great song is being rehearsed.

Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth.

Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.

Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they'll be thriving like never before. From where they are, they just can't see it.

Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to arrive, will get precisely what they want — and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in its reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all "So worth the wait."

Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche — this luminous juju is floating in the ether, and is accessible to you.

Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest.

Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe.

Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water.

Someone is regaining their sanity.
Someone is coming back from the dead.
Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable.
Someone is curing the incurable.

You. Me. Some. One. Now.

Sigh...happy heart πŸ₯°

It's been one of those weeks where farm stuff is just full of lists of things that need to be done and messes that needed to be cleaned up: The golf cart's batteries are slowly dying and B-Rad has to build more. There is mud everywhere. The dogs smell wet. There are a couple of fence posts that need to be replaced. We needed more hay. Sigh. Life on a farm.

One evening when ManChild was doing chores he found water where it shouldn't be. First photo is the back porch as we call it, the area between the girl goat barn and the coaching barn. Water does not collect here unless it's been pouring rain and it hadn't been:

That section poured over into the area where the horses typically have their hay nets in the evening, leaving it a mushy mess:

It turns out that our well used to, way back in the day before we ever lived here, supply the big white barn next door with water. The pipe had been cut a long time ago and it was left cut on both sides. The big white barn had a broken pipe which flooded the crawl space, filling that old pipe with water and sending it down 100 yards to our side, where it bubbled up from under the rubber mats and flooded our area too. Luckily it all got figured out. B-Rad dug up our end of the pipe and will cap it so it doesn't happen again!

In the beginning of the week weather was freezing cold (by North Carolina standards):

Alaska and her pregnant daughter Dancer (white face) behind her—cuddled up for warmth:

We even used B-Rad's homemade solar powered battery generator to keep the girl goats in warm water during the cold snap:

Don't worry, the boys have a warmer barn and their water was fine and the horses and donkeys can break the ice in their trough with no problem :-)

And it was 70 at the end of the week. And when things warm up that much, the critters who have been hibernating, come alive:

In case you can't tell the horror that it πŸ‘†πŸ½ was, here's a zoomed in version of a huge colony of red ants:

Shudder, shudder, gack. When ManChild saw them he went straight to the garage to get the fire ant killer granules and applied liberally. Those things are so dangerous!

I found this cute baby snake:

It was moving so slowly and it was getting colder that evening. I wondered, would it be appropriate to put him in a little box with some gentle heat overnight and let him go in the morning when it warmed up? I didn't do it, but I might next time.

With the 70 degrees has come four days of on and off rain. We have deep eaves on our house so we can leave the windows open and listen to the rain...I'm not sure there is anything nicer than that. This kind of weather makes me think about my favorite times of the year spring and fall. And while I'm not ready for spring quite yet, I'm getting there. I'm always looking forward to this:

And the little hopeful bits that just put a smile on my face:

The sheer green of North Carolina:

And of course, the baby goats:

Pretty cool that sweet little Dancer πŸ‘†πŸ½, who was born in 2022, will be having her own babies in April! As her pregnancy progresses, it's been fun to see her get more and more snuggly with me. Her mom Alaska was just like that too.

If you think of it, send good energy Dancer and Denali's way—we want baby girls who are on the small side of normal and present in the easiest way: front feet and nose first please!

MEMES:

ManChild! Lord, he's obsessed:

I loved this so much:

When ManChild was little, this was how he pronounced sushi:

Weird, 2 phone ones in the same post:

When ManChild was tiny, he always wanted a suit. He liked the idea of dressing "fancy." He got his first one a couple years ago when a cousin got married and even at 14, he was still excited—even better, he wore a bow tie with it! He's the ultimate old soul :-)

Last but not least, this one is for you Leslie H:
