2 Bald Eagles! 🦅

Nov 08, 2025

Happy Saturday friends!

Earlier this week I was coming heading back in from doing chores when I heard what I thought was a goat yelling, kind of gruff and insistent...was someone stuck or hurt? I turned to look back, nope, all goats were accounted for and calmly eating hay. I heard it again and a flash caught my eye, OMG! Two huge bald eagles were flying together to chase off a great blue heron on the larger pond next to mine! Swooping and banking, those white tails flashing in the sun. The blue heron finally left for the trees with the eagles hot on it's trail. I wonder what that was all about? But it did bring me back to this week in 2022, when Mom was in the last week of her life on earth. That week we had a whole family of bald eagles visiting the ponds, 3 adults and 2 younger ones. I had never before, and never since, seen that many at once. When I looked up what the bald eagle symbolizes in the spiritual world, I found: strength, freedom, wisdom, and a spiritual connection to the divine. They are often seen as a messenger between the human and spiritual realms. How appropriate for what was happening at that time.

Interesting to see them again now. Maybe Mom is sending them for me. Here are a couple of posts I wrote about that time:

"I am power and light and love for infinity."

The ugly stage in art and grief.

Screaming with laughter

I always had somewhat of a telepathic link with Mom but that last week, it was truly amazing. I was listening to Mayim Bialik's podcast and found that season 2 of the Telepathy Tapes just came out and she was interviewing Ky Dickens of TT. So exciting! One of the things Ky was saying was that during this season, they have some interviews with doctors and nurses who say that when people are non-verbal for any reason (dying, Alzheimer's, etc) that telepathy often comes into play. I sure experienced that first hand with Mom when she couldn't talk anymore because of the massive doses of morphine she was on. I can't wait to listen to the new season!

Happy news this week, ManChild got his permit! Because he's 18, it's only good for 2 months and then he can get his driver's license. He is thrilled and so are we! He's driving a bunch so he'll be prepared. Happy boy:

A few throwbacks for fun:

First, Mom and me when I was 2 and Mom was 23:

Were any of you around way back in 2014 when I was baking cupcakes to sell and then using my creativity to photograph them? That was a fun and yummy time :-) They were so good that I actually had someone approach me and say they could get me into Whole Foods!

THE RANCH:

It's getting colorful here:

And while the leaves are looking like they've been painted with watercolors, the grass is getting brown:

I'm not sure I Love Lucy is digging the time change:

But she is loving the morning light and the comfy electric blanket I put out for my neurofeedback clients! OMG! Monkey! I had to wash it again!

A friend's mommy is moving to a smaller place and she needed to find a home for her jade! I'm in love! Isn't it amazing? That's in my office windows where it will get bright morning light.

When Mom crossed, I inherited most of her plants which I promptly started propagating. I have a few that are a bushy 5" tall but most look like this or smaller:

Jade are interesting, they will grow long like this and the only way to get them to branch out is to take the top off. The place you cut will grow two new branches. So, if you want short, strong, stumpy trunks, you have to keep fooling around with them, taking the tops off, which means, you'll have soooo many propagations!

What I'm offering in-person:

The Wednesday night circle will most likely be full but I'm happy to add you to the waiting list if that one works better for you.

THE MEMES:

I have so many trees in the forest I could do this to:

This one is for my mom lol:

Best one of the week:

This is an AI-free newsletter! While I love to use AI to help me figure out a piece of software I don't understand, my intention is to use it to help me with the drudgery, never with writing, art, creation. All em dashes are intentional and mine, I was using them way before ChatGPT was a twinkle in Sam Altman's eye :-)
