Thinking outside the box—moving my art studio!

Feb 15, 2022

Do you remember when we first saw our NC house? Back in March of 2021? We fell immediately in love. It was so pretty! And had extravagances we weren't used to!

Remember how when you guys saw the closet you just swooned? I got lots of comments about that closet, particularly from people who know me well, "That closet is wasted on you!" lol It was so true too! I'm not a clothes horse at all!

After we moved in we found out that our huge closet used to be an actual room. Maybe a study or a nursery. Finally the closet within the closet made sense!

This is a photo from when we came to see the house back in March. There used to be a door just to the right of that, behind those clothes.

For 8 months Brad and I have been wracking our brains, trying to figure out a way to create the spaces I need for work until we can create the permanent space. I need a place to paint, an office space with my computer, a place for neurofeedback clients, a bathroom for clients, and a separate entrance because 1. professionalism and 2. covid. We've tried some options but nothing was working so far.

Last night Brad walked into our bedroom and said, "Hey, I've been thinking about your space and I might have a solution. We have this big house and somehow we can't come up with space. So I'm mulling it over and thinking that it just can't be. I'm missing something... And then I realized that we don't just have 3 bedrooms."

I said, "Right, there is the bonus room upstairs filled with boxes."

And he said, "And the study..."

And I looked like this:

I know, you are absolutely screaming at me right now! I can hear you in my head!

"What did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO?"

 I know, I know.

We did do it. All I can say is that it's temporary! Stop freaking out! Welcome to my new art studio:

Lots of shelving for art supplies, no? We have a "his" closet in our master too so Brad put all his clothes in there. Mine are on the other wall out of view.

So, step 1a of a multi-step process is complete! 1b will be unboxing art supplies and filling those shelves :-) And then comes moving ManChild to the guest room, and, and, and...I'll fill you in on the plan as we go along!

Let me give you a big ol' hug!
