Julieeeee...Let me EAT HIM!

Hi friends!

I just had an amazing session with a client where we talked about becoming aware of, finding…no…curating? Hmmm…let’s go with curating—curating our anger. Making friends with it, giving it a voice, instead of stuffing them down. I immediately thought of Venom since I just saw the trailer for the third movie. (Originally when I saw the pic below, I thought it was a horror movie, but it's not, it's a PG-13 rated Marvel movie :-))

If you’re not familiar with the movie, here is the synopsis:
Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy, who also does Venom's voice) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers—transforming him into Venom. Most of the time he looks like his human form but occasionally Venom comes out:

So I was thinking about that gravely voice in my head instead of stuffing things down and made myself laugh and laugh:

“Julieeeee…Let me EAT HIM!”

More parts work! I wrote a bit about “parts” work here.

And I even touched into the “negative” parts of myself: bitch, pissy pants, scattered, but it seems like I should go deeper, finding the words that really want to come out. They are words that one would almost never say out in the world, but I’m loving the idea of letting them loose in my head and in my personal writing.

As a woman (and probably many men nowadays too) I’ve always felt like I’m not allowed any anger. I didn’t know I was suppressing it in others too until ManChild yelled at me a few years ago, “You aren’t allowing my anger!” Oh my! And he was right! I don’t know what to do with anger. Whether it’s coming from me or aimed at me.

Maybe it’s time to find a way to befriend anger?
