You guys. A sad thing happened to me a few months ago. I was out doing ranch chores and was backing up our little Kawasaki Mule and I heard this thwump...
Huh. That was a weird sound. I looked behind me. Nothing. I got out, assuming that a rubber bucket had fallen out of the back of the Mule.
Gasp.
Not a bucket.
I had run into, and completely flattened, one of our little cherry trees. Broken right off at the ground.
I left it where it had fallen, feeling pretty sad.
A few days went by with it lying there. Each time I would pass it I would apologize.
One day, I looked at it and realized that it would have a new life! About a year ago, I decided I wanted to find a branch on the property that I could hang in my office and put some of my favorite non-Christmasy ornaments on it so I could enjoy their beauty all year long. The little cherry tree was the absolute perfect size and had beautiful speckled bark too!
I used some ribbon and tied it to some existing hooks in my office ceiling and hung everything on it. My office faces east so the morning sun really highlights the glass ornaments. Creating this little bit of happiness made me excited about changing some things in my office so it was more usable. Up next: office makeover!
Love to all from the Mother Ranch,
