Donkeys run wild!

Oct 11, 2025

The boys are at it again. This time they found a plastic drain pipe that helps divert the rain in the field, ripped it off and whapped each other with it πŸ˜†

Happy Saturday friends!

I had this crazy dream this week where I was unknowingly in a simulation life (my current life) you know, like the Matrix movie. It was so weird feeling. I was finally able to figure it out, fight my way out and escape. I realized two things: I was free and I was a warrior. I took off at a dead run. Obviously a much younger and fitter me! Behind me ran my mare Rayn and several other horses I didn't recognize. As I was running, I knew what was coming: Rayn lowered her head under me and flung me up onto her back and we were off at a gallop! And then I woke up.

Immediately my mind started to spin with: Huh. I wonder if that could be done? So I gave ChatGPT the parameters: If a horse and human were in constant telepathic communication with each other and they had practiced at a standstill, a walk, a trot, etc could it be done? Chat seemed to think so lol.

I think this idea must be in my mind because of that time that my little mini donkey Jaffee walked up behind me, bumped my butt with his head and when I ignored him he stuck his head between my legs from behind and lifted me up and I slid right down his neck onto his back! Boy that was a surprise! πŸ˜

I asked Chat to create me an image and this is what it gave me:

The woman is a little far back on the horse but not too bad!

Little stories from around the ranch this week:

Last year when I was mowing, I would straddle this ditch and mow right over it. ManChild knew that and felt brave enough to try it. This was the result:

B-Rad pulled it out with the golf cart and a chain, showing us how while he did it. But, not to be outdone by my ability to straddle mow, he had to try it:

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

So, ManChild and I practiced what we just learned and pulled it out again:

I love the way the light hits the tops of the trees at this time of the evening:

When my brother was here last, we found these old marble topped plant stands that we liked. The finish was just gross and powdery so I slapped a coat of flat black paint on them while watching TV one night:

Didn't they turn out nice?

I'm just about done with painting the chairs in my art studio, just in time for the Women's Circles to start back up this coming week (thanks for your help Bonnie!) The new color is again flat, washable wall paint in this dusty teal color (right):

I'll post a pic when I get the studio all set up for the new sessions!

Speaking of Women's Circles, one last call for the Tuesday morning session! I have a few spots still left. Here are the details:

Starts Tuesday, Oct 14, 10am-1pm, $210 for the 6 weeks. In short it's meditation, circle, art but what it really is: kind hearts, empathy, "OMG me too!", fun, music, brownies, laughter, compassion, good listening friends πŸ’œ

Contact me if you'd like to join!

The Wednesday night group is full again, but 2 new people did get to join this time, so, if you're more interested in the Wednesday night Women's Circle from 6-9pm, let me know and I'll put you on the waiting list!

I went outside through the garage door and found this cutie smiling up at me:

I didn't see a tag but luckily it turns out he belonged to someone boarding a horse next door. The reason I didn't see the tag is because the info was engraved into the metal latch of his collar! So, in case you've never seen that either, I thought I'd mention it :-)

I finally finished my bed in this gorgeous wedgewood blue. I literally took a piece of wedgewood into Lowe's and had them color match. I'm in love. My room isn't fully done yet but as soon as it is, I'll show you a photo! For now, this is the color:

It was a week of full moon pics wasn't it? If you have some, send them over, I'd love to see them!

Now that the majority of the artwork is not piled all around the house and is actually on the walls, Rosie can get out and do her job. I've never had this kind before. Years ago I had one that you'd stick a Swiffer sheet on and it would run around and pick stuff up that way. This one is a real vacuum with a dock and mapping software and all that. Nice. It does occasionally knock over my little aluminum donkey but other than that it does a great job and it's not me vacuuming so yay for that!

These two would like to invite you to kiss their snoots:

I made a Judy (Mom's name) spot in this little nook no one ever knows what to do with upstairs just outside my room. These things were hers:

Have you ever seen a prayer plant? They are new to me. I was told that their leaves folded up as if in prayer. I was imagining a sensitive plant but never saw it do anything like that. All I saw was this plant that appeared to be slowly dying :-(

I moved it into my office bathroom and it looked slightly perkier:

And then! OMG! I was getting ready for bed one night and found it like this!

Of course I asked ChatGPT what was going on and it said this was normal! This is what it was supposed to do, lift it's leaves as if in prayer. Ohhhhhhh. So, it's going to look like death during the day and fabulous at night. Got it. πŸ˜‚

My brother and I were talking plants this week and counting them. So...um...I may have a little problem...can you guess how many plants are in my house?

Haha, I'm not going to tell you. It's too shocking!

Tools of the trade when you have a Polar Bear:

So many de-matting tools!

She doesn't mind though:

An old throwback photo from our Colorado ranch. Being the high desert, fog and mist was a rarity and I always wanted to capture it:

THE MEMES:

I had a Reiki client once and a long haired white cat (in spirit) came in and curled up on her belly. It was the exact thing she needed πŸ’œ

Now, when I saw thisπŸ‘†πŸ½, it was completely appropriate. But look what the weather is going to be for this next week, yay, yay, YAY!!! πŸ€ΈπŸ½‍♀️

Ok, now...I'm going to tell you a little funny because both the people in the story are in heaven now. My aunt and my mom (both adults, this was maybe 10 years ago) were at a restaurant during their yearly beach trip when all of a sudden the balloon animal sound started happening and my aunt couldn't stop it. Mom was shocked and laughing her head off and whispering to her younger sister, "Make it STOP!" and my aunt, horrified and laughing just as hard whispered back, "I CAN'T!!!" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

This πŸ‘‡πŸ½ is so true. I was sitting outside with a friend having coffee (well, hot chocolate for me, I'm 12, I don't drink coffee) and we were talking about liking this specific coffee shop down the street but that we couldn't meet people there because of this:

And the one that made me laugh out loud the most:

This is an AI-free newsletter! While I love to use AI to help me figure out a piece of software I don't understand, my intention is to use it to help me with the drudgery, never with writing, art, creation. All em dashes are intentional and mine, I was using them way before ChatGPT was a twinkle in Sam Altman's eye :-)
