Brad Got Stuck on the Garage Roof!

Jul 04, 2020

I was headed back upstairs to work and thought, "I need to go outside." I had this back and forth argument in my head, I needed to work vs be outside and visit with the animals. I finally decided 30 minutes outside and then back to work. Walked out and saw this:

I said, "Whatcha doin' up there?"

Brad laughed and said, "I'm stuck."

"OMG! Seriously?" I looked for the ladder, maybe it fell. No, you can see it on the far side of the garage.

Wasps. Gah. They were swirling around the top of the ladder. He had taken wasp spray up with him when he went but was almost out and they were still there. He didn't have his cell phone with him.

I called our son out and we figured out the other ladder wouldn't help at all, too short. Brad thought to back the truck up and put the ladder in the bed—he looks like a little kid here:

And it worked great! He said about half way through the "rescue" he realized that the wasps had left but our son was enjoying the idea that he was rescuing his dad from the roof so he let him continue :-) He also realized that he had had his iWatch on his wrist the whole time and could have called us earlier! Haaaaa!!!

Never a dull moment.

Even better! When my mom saw these photos she said that her dad got stuck up on their roof in Ohio with no one home. The ladder fell. Way before cell phones. He was up there in a yellow shirt just like Brad. He was waving at people, trying to get his neighbors to stop but everyone thought he was just waving to say hi. He felt like he looked like a big yellow bird up there...just like Brad did lol!
