Happy Saturday friends!
We've lived here 4 years and have never been able to identify this ππ½ sound. Maybe a fawn? A hurt animal? A bird? Who knows. I was in the back pasture one morning this week and heard it again and it was really close. I stopped to listen and then started to slowly walk toward the sound. I stood still at the edge of the fence for the longest time before I saw this squirrel. The sound continued on but it looked like the squirrel was frozen in this position. I pulled out my phone and zoomed in on it and ah-ha! I could finally see it's little mouth move and its sides too. What an interesting sound, I wonder what it means?
I made a bed for the purple cone flowers that a friend gave me. It looks like a postage stamp but is actually about ten by ten feet! It's so different to garden on a farm compared to a neighborhood yard:
Speaking of purple cone flowers, for the upcoming Oct/Nov Women's Circles, we'll be working on smaller pieces, about 5x7", probably one a week. This is one of them:
Fun! I'll walk you through it step by step, no worries!
I have spaces in the Tuesday morning group starting Oct 14th. 10am-1pm, $210 for the 6 weeks. This is a great time of year to join, the weather is great and we will be able to start the circle outside with the herd of ponies and mini donkeys before moving in for some fun and easy art. You don't need any experience AT ALL, PROMISE!
Sweetness wants to know what you're waiting for?! Email, call, or text me for more info or to sign up! Don't you love his little eyebrows? Everyone is starting to fuzz up for winter :-)
Last weekend Brad was out cutting down little saplings and the goats were curious:
I was watching them when I suddenly realized that they wanted the trees! So I started flipping them over the fence for them:
Happy, happy goats:
I mean seriously, Parsley is smiling!
They eat all the parts, leaves and bark:
And their favorite is when they can reach up high, don't know why:
Alaska wants to know: "Why haven't you signed up for the Tuesday Women's Circle yet??" ;-)
The end of the first day:
Makes the trees easier to chip when all the leaves are off, win-win!
ODDS AND ENDS:
Brad's grass that he grew from seed has become a full blown lawn so he mowed it on Friday, wow, so pretty!:
My brother said his precious 4 legged daughter got her tail matted so he cut it out and gave and gave her a blunt cut bob:
I can't get it out of my head! π So I asked ChatGPT to make me a picture with a black and white Papillion with a black wig on her head that was cut into a bob. I can't get enough of it:
Miss the sunrises on our Colorado farm:
Visited my uncle and found a lizard peering inside his house:
Found this cute little frog/toad that was about half the size of my thumb:
Found a big Monstera deliciosa at Whole Foods for only $20! OMG! They are always so expensive!
Wow:
I Love Lucy, already sick of the rain:
These guys too:
Make it stop.... (also, Blue says, did you sign up for the Women's Circle yet?)
Luckily the hurricanes didn't give us too much!
But then we got a whole new flush of little pink flowers in the field:
And the herd got to go to the upper pasture:
Tori would also like to know why you haven't signed up for the Tuesday Women's Circle??π Doesn't she have the most expressive eyes:
THE MEMES!
I want to be her best friend!

This is an AI-free newsletter! While I love to use AI to help me figure out a piece of software I don't understand, my intention is to use it to help me with the drudgery, never with writing, art, creation. All em dashes are intentional and mine, I was using them way before ChatGPT was a twinkle in Sam Altman's eye :-)
