Curious about Equine Gestalt Coaching?

Let's start with "Equine."

Equines are horses, donkeys, and zebras, oh my! No zebras on the ranch (darn it) but we do have ponies and two funny little mini donkeys named Sweetness and Jaffee. They are masters at reading energy, presence, and what's really going on beneath the surface.

And then there is "Gestalt Coaching"...what in the world?

Gestalt is a German word that means “wholeness.”
As a Gestalt practitioner, I believe in the mind–body–spirit connection and that you are already whole, you already have the answers inside you. My job is to help you find them!

When you pair that with equine wisdom, you get a powerful coaching experience where the horses help reflect what’s true and what wants to change, in the moment.

How does that actually work?

Great question!

Through:

  • Gestalt methodology (present-moment awareness)

  • Somatic (body-based) insights

  • Your intuition and mine

  • My specialized training in equine-partnered coaching

  • And the information the horses, donkeys, and even goats offer through their behavior and connection

…we work together to discover what’s ready to be seen.

This brings:

  • Greater self-understanding

  • Clarity that makes sense to you

  • And deeply grounded self-compassion

You don’t have to show up with anything figured out.
Just a willingness to be curious, the herd and I will support you from there.

I offer online coaching as well!

Not nearby? Prefer to work without the animals?
Or maybe leaving the house just isn’t easy right now?

Online coaching brings the same supportive, creative, Gestalt-inspired experience to you, wherever you are.

You’ll still have:

  • A compassionate space to explore what’s coming up for you

  • Art and somatic tools you can use right at home

  • Support in finding clarity, confidence, and your next step

If this feels like the right fit, reach out with any questions or to schedule your first session. I’m here when you’re ready.

Who I Work With

The people who find their way to The Mother Ranch are often seeking healing, meaning, and a deeper connection with themselves—supported by expressive art, neurofeedback, and the gentle presence of my herd of ponies and mini donkeys.

Women (however their story of womanhood has unfolded) who are:

  • Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or low, and tired of pushing through alone

  • Longing for purpose, clarity, or a next step that actually feels aligned

  • Moving through transitions (loss, relationship change, career shifts, empty nest)

  • Highly sensitive, intuitive, or creative but unsure how to honor those parts

  • Moving through the world with neurodivergent wiring—diagnosed or not, early or late, or just recognizing themselves in the descriptions
  • Wanting to reconnect with joy, their body, and their own inner wisdom

  • Drawn to animals, nature, and a more spiritual way of healing and growing

I welcome and affirm women in all their diversity—including trans women and others who live and identify as women. If you’re wondering if you belong here, you do.

Teen girls—who feel drawn to explore, create, and connect, however their story of girlhood is unfolding, who are:

  • Questioning identity, belonging, and the expectations placed on them

  • Thinking, feeling, or processing differently—with or without a diagnosis, and needing a space to just be who they are
  • Anxious, withdrawn, or feeling misunderstood in a world that wants them to be “fine”

  • Carrying big emotions with nowhere that feels truly safe to let them out

  • Craving a place where it’s okay to be creative, sensitive, and still figuring things out

  • Drawn to the calming company of animals and expressive art as a way to communicate

If you see yourself or your teen here…you are not alone.
The farm is a healing space—to feel supported, understood, and guided into your next chapter—with the help of art, nature, and the wisdom of the herd.

If my work resonates with your soul, there is a place for you here.

What to Expect—For You and From Me:

For You:
Each session is about an hour and takes place right in the heart of the herd, in the pasture with two ponies and two mini donkeys—who may choose to engage with us as we work. If the weather isn’t cooperating, we’ll be in the open-air coaching barn with one of them joining us there. We usually start seated, taking a moment to notice what’s happening in your body and your emotions—and from there, we follow the wisdom that arises. And, if it's too cold or too hot, we can always meet in my office, my little Border Collie Lucy loves to offer her calming presence in coaching and neurofeedback sessions.

From Me:
I am trained in the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® by Melisa Pearce, a pioneer in horse-human healing and Gestalt psychotherapy. This two-year training prepared me to walk beside clients with presence, safety, and skill. I've been practicing since 2016 and maintain my certification with annual training.

Preparing for a coaching session:

Coaching sessions are more conversational and interactive. You're welcome to bring anything you'd like support with—a situation, a feeling, a question, a block, or whatever is up/activated within you at that moment.

You don't need to plan what to say, I'll help guide the process. Just arrive as you are and we'll explore together.

Bring Along:

  • Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots)

  • Clothes you’re comfortable getting a little dirty

  • A journal for jotting down reflections—you’re welcome to sit by the pond afterward to write or simply enjoy the quiet

After a coaching session

It's normal to feel emotionally "spacious", tender, or introspective after a coaching session. If something continues to unfold after we meet, you are welcome to jot notes, paint, or just allow the insights to settle.

Integration often happens quietly.

Feeling unsure? You're not alone.

It’s completely normal to feel curious and nervous at the same time, everyone heals at their own pace. Some dive right in, others want to ease their way in. You get to explore what feels right, you get to choose.

There are many healing paths here at The Mother Ranch. Our ponies and mini donkeys are incredible partners in this work—but they’re not the only option. My goats also help hold space, and I offer animal-free coaching for those who prefer a more traditional experience.

If a one-on-one feels like too big a step right now, that’s okay. A Women’s Circle might be a wonderful place to start—creative, supportive, and deeply healing. And for the gentlest path, neurofeedback or Reiki might be just what your system needs.

Whatever you choose, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where healing happens in your way, on your timeline.
